The Audience
Another great play in London until October is The Audience with Kristin Scott Thomas in the Apollo Theatre. It portrays the private audiences of the Queen with her prime ministers, while adding some parts of her life in between. During the Queen's reign there were twelve prime ministers until now. The play portrays seven, where substantial historic events happened during their time.
The play has comic and emotional elements and Thomas is amazing in her role as the Queen. Changing in seconds from young to old to middle aged, with a swift change of outfits and hairstyles, depending on the time portrayed.
We also get a glimpse of the Queen's childhood, imagined by the writer, in between audiences with the prime ministers.
Worthwhile visit to the theatre and a great, inspiring play, portrayed incredibly by the one and only Kristin Scott Thomas.
