NYC comes to London

There’s a US “invasion” in London. Gastronomic that is… I always said London is somewhat New York in Europe, but that’s more apparent now since New York institution restaurants are opening a branch in London. Of course, London is different from NYC in other aspects, but this not what this post is about.

Will they be as successful as NYC? Only time will tell.

Red Farm

Red Farm

In all honesty I have been to all these places in NYC. I was exercising in Equinox and shopping from Whole Foods while living in Boston.

When I moved to London I did enrol in Equinox (the London branch had just recently opened up when I moved to the capital). I do continue to shop once in a while from Whole Foods as well- it’s expensive but it’s awesome too!

So now you can find all the way from across the pond, Equinox (the super gym for gym bunnies with amazing classes; a second branch opened in St James after High Street Ken), a Whole Foods in your neighbourhood (the organic healthy supermarket), The Curtain just recently (hotel and member’s club from a famous American entrepreneur; location of the American favourite Red Rooster), Chiltern Firehouse (celebrity hotspot restaurant and hotel) and Balthazar (French bistro).

This year there are more coming. There is Red Farm opening in Covent Garden (a modern fun Chinese which I mentioned on my NYC article), Bagatelle in Mayfair (the party brunch favourite- be ready it’ll be hard to book), Red Rooster is already up and running with southern cuisine and live music nights (mostly jazz), By Chloe in Covent Garden (vegan cafe), a Dean and Deluca store in Mayfair (the famous NYC deli).

And who knows probably more coming. Could be also a NYC hotel in the run. More coming soon. ;-)

Time will tell. But we are heading to exciting times.
