Ivy Chelsea Garden
Recent opening in Chelsea from the group of the Ivy is the new Ivy Garden on King's Road. It has a secret, wonderfully decorated, garden on the back (which is the main reason to visit it during the summer) and a british/french inspired cuisine, similar to Colbert's in some ways I must say. The interior is nice and big, but over exaggerated in its decoration. There's simply too much.
However, the food, the service and the atmosphere are great, making it a great regular spot for those living in the neighbourhood.
I went for brunch and dinner and I did enjoy both. The eggs with truffle were superb, the buratta as well, even though lacking some tomato on the side, the burger had a mediocre taste, but the fries weren't good, the salads were very good and the desserts superb. The must are the chocolate bombe and the strawberry shortcake sundae.
There is an interesting cocktail menu as well. However, be prepared. Book well in advance to find a table and ask for a table in the garden, but it's not guaranteed; iIt is always packed, but worth a visit.
