Rail House Cafe

Last Sunday for brunch I tried a new place in Victoria, in a new development called Nova, filled with famous already established restaurants, like Sourced or Shake Shack, and new ones, like Hai Cenato. I became really excited of course and I am keen to visit most of them and try them out.

So we went to Rail House cafe, from the group of the Riding House Cafe, which was decor wise really bright, cosy and fun. The food was really exciting as well. Hard to chose from the menu selection... Its brunch menu combines lunch dishes with breakfast ones, but I want to visit again to try the whole breakfast menu, as in brunch there are fewer choices for breakfast dishes, and also try the lunch versions. My friends were unfortunately not very keen to eat too much so we didn't order many dishes to my disappointment. I am always to keen to try.

The best dish is definitely the Burgerdict. Running egg on top of a cheeseburger with a nice homemade sauce, either hollandaise or similar.

I combined it with the delicious truffled mac & cheese and with roasted carrots. My friends went for the classic avocado on toast with poached eggs which was also a delight.

Of course the food was combined with brunch cocktails, classic taste not extraordinary, and finished with desserts and coffee.

Vanilla cheesecake, unique and interesting cream, chocolate fondant, tasty but not exciting, too sweet for my taste, not so excited about the cheese ice cream, and pain perdu, well cooked and fulfilling, like a french toast with poached pears and ice cream.

I do recommend a visit.
