1. ROCKEFELLER CENTRE CHRISTMAS TREE & ICE SKATING

One of the most famous NYC Christmas attractions, Rockefeller center’s fabulous Christmas tree attracts thousands of visitors each year. The open ice rink under the tree and the Christmas lights are a magical experience, especially at night. There are restaurants and cafes located around the ice rink for you to enjoy a hot drink after skating.

3. ICE SKATING
Except the famous Rockefeller center ice rink, you will also find Central Park’s Wollman Rink, 830 Fifth Avenue, another renowned attraction. It is open until March and you can book ice skating lessons or a VIP early morning session, beating the crowds. It is open and offers great views around.
Bryant Park’s Winter Village offers also a small ice skating rink.
For all year round, indoor skating you can find Queen’s City Ice Pavilion, 47-32 32nd Place, and Brooklyn’s Aviator Sports and Events Center, 3159 Flatbush Ave.
4. TIMES SQUARE BALL DROP
Times Square, 31stDecember 2018
The most famous place in Manhattan to welcome the new year. It features performances from early in the day until way after midnight and when the year changes, together with the countdown, the ball drops. It is a unique experience and every year thousands of people gather in the square from early in the morning, standing, to celebrate. Keep in mind if you do join that the streets around the square do close from the afternoon and a huge crowd attends the site from early on in the day or the previous day and spaces tend to fill up quickly.
5. CAROLING IN WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK

6. WINDOW DISPLAYS
See the holiday window displays of the famous department stores like Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Barney’s, Saks and Bergdorf Goodman.
7. FAO SCHWARZ REOPENS
Rockefeller Center
The historic NYC toy store that closed a few years ago and was located in Fifth avenue, near Central Park, close to the Apple store, reopened again this year in Rockefeller Plaza. Head there to buy and experience the uniqueness of this toy store, loved by generations of children.
